Claude Motion explained: what Anthropic’s new animation tool does (and doesn’t)

On October 8, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Motion in beta, alongside Claude Dashboards. Here is what was actually announced, what it means for anyone making videos with Claude, and what to use if you cannot access it yet.
What Anthropic announced
- Claude Motion turns reports, charts or product walkthroughs into short animations.
- Claude writes each animation as code, with no video model involved.
- You can change any word, number or timing, then export an MP4.
- It is in beta on Claude Team and Enterprise plans.
Why “no video model” matters
Generative video models invent pixels, which is why text comes out garbled and numbers drift. When Claude writes the animation as code, every word is typeset and every number is exact. Edits are precise too: change one figure and only that figure changes. It is the same principle behind code-based renderers and behind Claude Video’s Kinetik engine.
What was not announced
The launch did not detail resolutions, formats beyond MP4, music, 3D scenes, website capture, an API or availability on individual plans. Some of that may come later; until it is announced, treat it as unknown rather than missing.
Who Claude Motion is for
If your company already uses Claude Team or Enterprise and you want to animate internal reports, dashboards and walkthroughs without leaving Claude, Motion is the natural choice.
Alternatives if you are not on a Team plan

Claude Motion confirms the direction: the best animation with Claude comes from Claude directing and code rendering, not from generated pixels. Use Motion for internal visuals on Team and Enterprise; use Claude Video for marketing films, on any plan.
