How to create motion graphics with Claude (no After Effects needed)
A step-by-step workflow to go from a prompt to rendered motion graphics with Claude: titles, stats, charts and product tours, exported to MP4.
By Claude Video Team ·
This is the workflow we recommend to turn a single prompt into finished motion graphics with Claude, without opening a timeline.
1. Start from the message, not the effects
Write one sentence about what the viewer should remember. “Acme turns raw data into a live dashboard in 30 seconds.” Claude builds the piece around that sentence, and effects follow the message instead of competing with it.
2. Give Claude real material
- Your URL, so it can read the product and capture screenshots.
- Three numbers worth animating (customers, time saved, uptime).
- Your brand colors and fonts, or let them be detected from the site.
3. Ask for specific building blocks
Motion graphics are made of reusable blocks. Name them in your prompt and Claude will place them in the storyboard:
- Kinetic typography for the hook.
- An odometer stats scene for the numbers.
- An animated chart for growth.
- A product tour with snap-zooms and callouts on your real UI.
- A logo wall or integration grid for social proof.
- A call to action with your URL.
4. Direct the motion in plain words
You do not need easing curves. Say “snappier”, “more air between beats”, “cut on every second beat” or “use whip pans between scenes”. Claude translates that into timing and transitions.
5. Review frames, then render
Preview the piece in the browser, scrub to the scenes that matter and fix copy that takes too long to read. Then export: 16:9 for your site and YouTube, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feeds.
Example prompt
Make a 25-second motion graphic for acme.app.
Hook in kinetic type: "Monday reports, done by 9:01."
Stats with odometers: 12,000 teams, 3.4M reports, 99.98% uptime.
Then a product tour of the dashboard, zoom on "Share".
End on our URL. Punchy energy, whip transitions, our brand colors.
